My Story:

I’m a wife, Mom, and skin care/makeup enthusiast! While earning my degree in Electronic Media, I discovered my passion for make-up application. I began working as a Make-Up Artist in the early 1980’s, and was a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for 3 years. In the late 1980’s, I spent time in London, England studying film, and cosmetic application techniques. My on-air broadcasting experience has also provided a wealth of cosmetic application experience. I became intensely interest in skin care when I developed Basal Cell Carcinoma in the late 1980’s. It re-appeared in the late 1990’s. I count my blessings and pay attention to every little mark and change on my skin! Attending skin care/cosmetic application seminars and trainings several times a year keeps me informed of the latest trends in the industry. I also demonstrate application techniques at my own Glamour Clinics. As the Illinois State Leader and an International Trainer for Sense Cosmetics by Senegence International, I have global opportunities as a trainer and a business builder. SeneGence International is a California based cosmetic company that offers Independent Distributorships in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.

Carol Clifton introduced me to Sense Cosmetics. I was visiting family, and my mother mentioned that Carol, (daughter of a dear family friend), knew about some new skin care and makeup line. My 40th birthday was looming, and wrinkles were invading, so I called her. I just wanted to know about the skin care, and did NOT want to be a distributor. After trying the color cosmetics, and learning that they also contained the SenePlex anti-aging skin treatment, I wisely decided to purchase some of the skin care, and some of the color cosmetics. Less than two weeks later I noticed improvement in my skin, and ordered additional skin care and color cosmetics! Having oily, acne pron, sensitive skin made it a challenge to find good skin care. I had tried every wrinkle cream known to man, and was fed up with acne treatments that left my skin dry, flaky and dull.

About 5 months after beginning with SeneGence products, I ran into a friend I had not seen for some time. She enthusiastically quizzed me on what I had been doing to my skin, and was convinced that I had gotten a chemical peel, or had “some work done”. She commented that whatever it was, I should sell it. So, I signed up! I had no idea what a wonderful journey I had begun.

The ongoing training available with SeneGence keeps me educated, focused, and offers a plethora of information for growing and maintaining a successful business. The flexibility of both the business and the training is outstanding. I choose the events, trainers and method of training I want to take advantage of. Online, phone, person to person, literature, video, audio, ON A CRUISE…fantastic!

My radio and television experience has given me a solid foundation for professional and successful presentation in sales and training opportunities. Being a SeneGence Distributors allows me to channel my creativity and love of teaching.

I worked as an early childhood educator beginning in the late 1980’s. This journey began as a dear friend struggled her way out of an abusive relationship. She felt trapped because she was not allowed to work during her marriage, and could not afford childcare at the beginning of her job hunt. I was fortunate enough to be able to offer her childcare, as I was newly married and not working at the time. This choice changed the course of my life as I discovered how much I enjoyed working with young children. I continued to do so as a nanny. I returned to school to study early childhood education, and after fighting to save a failing married, took a position as a live in governess for a family with several children. One of their sons later introduced me to my husband of 14 years by way of a blind date. Just shows that you never know who will change your life and how!

After having our first child, I decided to open a home day care, so I could continue working with children, yet be home with my own. This decision lead to writing, and publishing 5 children’s books, which I continue to market to schools and educators today. Making classroom visits is a wonderful way to satisfy my lasting desire to teach young children.

Just 4 months after I began working weekends with my SeneGence business, I was making enough money to close my home day care, and work my new business full time. I am grateful everyday for the opportunity to share products with women that actually live up to their claims. Genuine satisfaction fills me daily, as I teach others what our products can do for them. Empowering women to look and feel great is an amazing gift!
